Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (Foundational Partner)
The following Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services programs are co-located at the Family Peace Center (FPC).
• Child Advocacy Center
Children who may have been harmed can talk about the abuse and get medical care at a Child Advocacy Center. It is a safe place for children to receive care from many agencies and health care providers.
• Child Abuse Prevention Fund (CAP Fund)
The Child Abuse Prevention Fund provides financial support for primary prevention activities in Wisconsin to help ensure a safe environment for children and educate professionals and the public about the role of prevention in eliminating child abuse.
• Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin (CSSW)
CSSW provides counseling programs that aim to reduce stress and conflict, enhance parenting skills and strengthen family ties. Programs are designed for children, adolescents and families with a wide variety of behavioral and emotional issues.
• Project Ujima
This multidisciplinary collaboration addresses youth and adult violence through individual, family, and community intervention and prevention strategies. Services include crisis intervention and case management, social and emotional support, youth development and mentoring, and mental health and medical services.
Aurora Health Care
Staff from Aurora Health Care’s Healing Center and Sexual Assault Treatment Center (SATC) provides advocacy and forensic nursing services to sexual assault victims at the FPC.
Centro Legal provides free and low-cost legal services for individuals and families in Milwaukee County. They help clients who are in transition towards a more peaceful life free from abuse. Centro Legal helps clients navigate the legal system, so that they can focus on their families, employment, education, and safety.
CORE/ El Centro
Practitioners where healing and transformation occur daily for individuals, families and the community. A volunteer-driven organization that relies heavily on the gifts and talents of professionals in the fields of Chinese Medicine, Massage Therapy, Energy Work and Holistic Exercise.
Goodwill® strives to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by helping people reach their full potential through education, skills training and the power of work.
Jewish Family Services
Jewish Family Services (JFS) is a leading provider of social services in greater Milwaukee for individuals, families and children of every age, race, religion, income, or lifestyle. JFS provides mental health services to individuals and families impacted by violence who visit the center.
Legal Action of Wisconsin
Legal Action of Wisconsin (Legal Action) is a non-profit law firm that ensures equal justice for low-income individuals. They will provide limited legal advice and representation for individuals.
City of Milwaukee
Milwaukee Police Department, Sensitive Crimes Division
This division is responsible for investigations involving domestic violence, crimes against children (child abuse and neglect), sexual assaults, interference with child custody matters, missing persons and other matters of a sensitive nature.
Milwaukee Public Schools
Milwaukee Public Schools houses a full-time social worker in the FPC. The social worker serves as a liaison and works to increase communication between families and school personnel and provide information and referrals for families impacted by domestic violence.
College of Nursing
Provides basic health education and first aid for adults visiting the FPC.
District Attorney’s Office
The mission of the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is to promote public peace and safety by just and vigorous prosecution; to seek and to do impartial justice by ensuring that the guilty are punished and the innocent go free; to protect the health and welfare of children who are victims of child abuse and neglect; and to safeguard the rule of law and to promote citizens’ participation in law enforcement by treating all persons who come in contact with the criminal justice system with fairness, dignity, and respect.
Wraparound Milwaukee is a unique type of managed care program operated by the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division that is designed to provide comprehensive, individualized and cost effective care to children with complex mental health and emotional needs.
