Happy 2nd anniversary VOICES

Sojourner’s VOICES advisory committee celebrates its two year anniversary this week!  VOICES is a committee of survivors who volunteer their time and use their voices to share their stories, support other survivors, and advocate for peace in the community.

There are VOICES chapters in family justice centers throughout the United States, and Sojourner started its VOICES chapter two years ago to empower and support survivors as they work toward their collective goals, share their stories and add their voices to the movement to end domestic violence.

Over the past 2 years, VOICES committee members have created a welcome and exit letter for Sojourner shelter residents, shared their stories in panels, interviews and fundraising events, attended the Family Justice Conference in San Diego, presented at a Sojourner board meeting and more.

The VOICES committee will celebrate their milestone this week with a fun event planned by the VOICES membership subcommittee, and they are looking forward to another wonderful year ahead.
