Among the many benefits pets provide, they are a source of companionship, joy, comfort, and unconditional love. People with pets who are experiencing domestic violence often hesitate to leave an abusive situation because they fear for their beloved animal's safety. In partnership with the Wisconsin Humane Society – Milwaukee Campus, the Safe Haven Program aims to eliminate this barrier by providing up to 60 days of shelter for pets from homes affected by domestic violence. The Safe Haven Program provides peace of mind for survivors leaving an abusive situation, knowing their animal is being cared for while they find a safe living environment. Join Carmen Pitre and Wisconsin Humane Society staff to learn more about the program and meet some furry friends!
Please register below. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
Peace Brew is proudly sponsored by Colectivo Coffee! The first 25 participants to attend will receive a free pound of coffee from Colectivo’s special blend chosen specifically for this series.
