Partnership Brewing Between Sojourner and Colectivo Coffee
Sojourner Family Peace Center and Colectivo have joined forces for Peace Brew, a monthly discussion series among Sojourner leadership, donors, and members of the community about the current state of domestic violence and what's happening at Sojourner.
“When someone says, ‘let’s grab coffee,’ what they’re really saying is they want to get together and talk,” according to Carmen Pitre, President and CEO of Sojourner. “Our goal is to always provide a warm, inviting environment for people to have a conversation about important, and often difficult, domestic violence topics. We’re thrilled Colectivo wants to help us do that with this series.”
Colectivo donates a bag of coffee to the first 25 registrants ahead of each virtual meeting so they can have a hot cup ready when the conversation begins.
"Colectivo's owners have personally been involved with the Sojourner Family Peace Center so when we were contacted to be the coffee sponsor for the Peace Brews, it was a resounding yes from everyone at the company," says Megan Suardini, Colectivo’s Vice President of Branding, Marketing, and E-commerce.
The hope is to eventually host meetings at Colectivo cafes, with a special message in the mix.
"We were inspired by the gatherings and felt it was important that we provide specialty coffee sourced from female producers from around the world who have also overcome adversity and have their own inspirational stories of survival," shared Suardini.
